We had an AMAZING time here! Wound up at GB on accident and was so glad we did. Tasty reasonably-priced food (had the Chicken and Mushroom Pasta), really fast service, friendly employees, and wonderful atmosphere! While there are other nationally known chain restaurants close by, this is a local spot we will remember from our time in Louisville. Loved it, highly recommend!Also, try the Hefeweizen. It is best I've had and I'm from a very German-beer loving city (Cincinnati, OH).

Over priced and food is average. Beer isnt rated great and doesnt taste great. Wont be back.

The food here was excellent. They have a really good draft beer selection. The customer service was also really good.

While I prefer locally owned restaurants, I've never had a bad meal at this franchise. The food isn't authentic German, but the menu has some German dishes. My favorite is the chicken schnitzel! I love the lemon and the capers on that dish. If you enjoy beer, then you need to check out their selection. My friend got a flight of 6 beers for only $5.

We went to this place on Saturday Memorial weekend. Place was not crowded so we asked for outdoor seating. Took awhile for the server to get to our table he seamed lost and confused not sure why. It took forever to get our drink order and when we did get the food it was just dropped off he never came by and asked if we needed anything. We had to ask the host for our check or we would still be there. I gave this 2 stars because the food was not bad but the service was terrible.

Came in tonight with my brother, we were promptly seated, waited for 15 mins to be served, had at least 3 servers walk past, one of which I caught her eye as I raised me hand and she nodded at me, but proceeded to go about her job. We walked out they won't be receiving our business again! Very poor form!

I just experienced the BEST stout I’ve ever had!The menu looked amazing and the food I did have did NOT disappoint. The service was beyond excellent and everyone was wicked friendly! Maggie even gave an amazingly educational tour of the brewery with such passion I may just switch careers! 😉 Super impressed! Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere, especially when they open the outdoor side of the bar during warmer weather. I love the Marzen (amber lager) and the bratwurst sliders. The happy hour prices are great as well, $4 beers & $2 off several appetizers.

We stumbled across this restaurant during our stay in Louisville as this one closes a bit later than other restaurants during the weekday. I really like their Marzen BBQ burger. I ended swapping a regular patty for the kobe patty and I thought it was pretty amazing. Since they are also their own brewery, I'd try their German beer! I personally ordered a Scharzbier and a Marzen and I liked both of them!Speaking of, I forgot to mention, I really like their fish and chips. Since coming back from London, I had not had any good fish and chips until I came into GB. Most places I've been to since returning to the US, put too much batter into the fish.

We come here often.Their Hefeweizen is off the chart.

Wonderful time with great food and are waitress Stephanie was so awesome. She knew everything about the food and restaurant. Will be going back again. You can also eat in or out side the restaurant.

Perfect! That counts for pretty much everything. The various beer have a very good taste all on their own and the food is amazing. It's so fresh and just perfectly seasoned! Plus we got a nice table where we were able to look into the kitchen. Our waiter was a bit quick when talking, other than that very helpful and kind.

Came in with a large group (15+) on a tight schedule in between meetings. The waiters were attentive and helpful in letting our group know what options were faster for the kitchen staff to prepare. The chicken and mushroom pasta was the perfect portion for lunch - although a bit pricy at ~$15 for this bowl.. a friend had the shrimp and mango tacos (a filling 3 tacos and black beans). Minus one star just for a little confusion during the handing out/collection of checks. Otherwise a great experience! The appetizers looked delicious, and their drink menu looked excellent. Definitely coming back when we have more time to enjoy our food!

Ate twice here during my stay. Had an amazing friendly waiter the first time and a sweet lady the next night. Food was amazing, good portions for price. Bartender made good drinks. Everything came out in a timely manner, hot and exactly how we ordered. Will definitely come back and have recommended this spot for anyone going to be in the area.

The food was good. My meal was great. Our server, Victoria, was very responsive to our requests. The only negative was a couple of menu items were sold out which was surprising for a Wednesday evening. Otherwise, the venue was sufficient as the prelude to our Black Violin performance at the Brown Theater.

Nice bar with a good outdoor area right on the 4th street; live music on the street and great atmosphere. The bar features its own brewery where you can see beer being fermented. Food was delicious and they have a nice craft selection. Prices were OK considering quality of both food and beer, and the fact that this is a central area with lots of options.I recommend.

This place was alright, which I guess is expected from a chain. The food we got was good, the service was alright, and the drinks were good. There was a server that always returned to his computer station and would yell curse words and “JESUS my shoulder hurts!” with no one around... kind of bizarre.

Love the outdoors seating and fireplace. Good drinks too.

They don't answer the phone to make a reservation. Plenty of other options

This place was good. Amazing services. Great atmosphere. Everything was well maintained. I went there with my friend for lunch. Sitting section was comfortable and beautiful.

Original waiter looked at us and said before greeting, "What a waste..." to another waiter and we were subsequently not greeted for over 15 minutes.Atmosphere was 4/5Beer was 4/5 starsAppetizer fries was 2/5Both our $15 meals were 3/5Overall, we very disappointed, mostly because of the initial service, especially after driving 3 hours to here.

The food is just not good. I have been here once before and decided to give it another shot. I had good service and our server was working hard. However, the flavors just don’t mesh well with the Shrimp and Mango tacos. It looks way better then it tastes. The sauce on the tacos doesn’t pair well. The Asiago fries were tasteful. I won’t come back. I wasn’t impressed either time.

Excellent meal. The Gorgonzola Pear Salad was one of the best salads I have ever tasted.

Visited this establishment multiple times during St. Patty's Day weekend. We were in town for a cheer event. We were able to walk in and be seated, even with large groups. The fries were amazing. As was the rest of my food. Wait staff was very accommodating, especially when in a time crunch. My picky-eating teenager had zero complaints. Food and drinks were great and the service was awesome. We will definitely return. One of the few places that was prepared and able to accommodate the crowds of that weekend.

I can't say enough about Gordon Biersch. Love is an understatement. Their Hefeweizen beer is locally crafted and fresh. Their food is very gourmet and fine with fresh ingredients, but at an affordable price. I love this place!

Nice waiter, okay food. The patio and chairs were pretty dirty (bird poop). "Neapolitan crust" flatbreads come on a dry, crunchy cracker crust. Tacos were good.

Full gluten free menu and great service! I had the bruschetta chicken which came with amazing zoodles, they made it dairy free for me as well and I didn’t get sick! What a great option!

i thought this was a nice place to eat. Good atmosphere and the food wasn't bad. I had 3 fish tacos. My boyfriend enjoyed it more. So that makes for a 5-star review!

This is a chain, so nothing especially unique here. I was not feeling well when I was here for dinner, but the small Caesar salad and side bowl of rice were healthy, inexpensive, and not too filling. Otherwise the menu is full of large portions and not-too-healthy items. I was here with a party of approximately 30 people and the staff was very accommodating of our needs. Nice work!

This place has a nice atmosphere and good food. Everything is made from scratch according to our waiter who was awesome and very attentive. We enjoyed the craft beer and you can get free sample tastings. I had bourbon infused beer and loved it. Smooth flavor. I would have given 5 stars except the chicken breast was really thin. Thin enough to hold back a star. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could. Go try it!

We saw the Jim Beam sign above the restaurant from our hotel and we thought it was a new restaurant. It was actually G&B. Terence was our waiter and he was amazing and knowledgeable. We both got Salads. I got the chopped salad and my wife got the Shrimp Cobb. But she requested the Shrimp be replaced with grilled chicken. Terence didn’t even have to ask the kitchen. He bragged that everything was made from scratch and so that wouldn’t be a problem. The food was great. They had so many beers to choose from. My wife decided to get a flight and let Terence pick for her. The menu says 5 for 5, but they brought out 6. She loved all but one which was a little too hoppy for her liking. The darkest beer was very smooth.

Meh...much better beer in town. 《=original post. Would have changed to 0 after seeing bartender in the bathroom wash hands for 5 secs then pick her teeth and resume business as usual. Yuck, gross won't return. Couldn't get a manager to talk to. Disgusting!!!

Over priced and the beer is average at best. Same sentiments about the food.

Great atmosphere! I love that you get to see into the kitchen. The entrees were mediocre at best, but the bread pudding for dessert, was phenomenal!!!

Great beer selection. Food and service were also great. Probably one of the most reasonably priced places on 4th Street Live.

Food and table service were good. Host took our name and said 45 minutes. He forgot about us and it turned into over an hour and a half. Didn't care for seeing staff reach in to items on prep area and eat them where food was being prepared. Will not go here again.
